There are many ways to increase internet speed. Here is the list of some proven methods to increase the speed of your internet connection. Follow this guide and boost your internet speed.
#1 Remove the Limit of Reservable Bandwidth
Bandwidth is actually the range covered for data transmission between an upper range and lower range. It is usually controlled by your Internet Service Provider. However, Microsoft also provide some settings in Windows to control the reservable bandwidth.
If you remove the limit of bandwidth from Windows settings, then your system will not be able to reserve anything. Now I’m going to show you how to remove the limit of Reservable Bandwidth.
Press Windows Key + R combination, to open the Run dialog box and type gpedit.msc. It’ll open a new Window of the “Local Group Policy Editor” where you can change the settings of Reservable Bandwidth.
In order to remove the limit of Reservable Bandwidth, navigate to Local Computer Policy→Computer Configuration→Administrative Templates→Network→Qos Packet Scheduler→Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
This process is long but believe me it will really help you to increase the speed of your internet broadband connection.
Now double click on “Limit Reservable Bandwidth” and a new windows will be open. Here you can configure the reservable bandwidth settings to improve the broadband speed on Windows.
In this window, you will see three options on the top left corner.
- Not Configured
By default, “Not Configured” option is selected by Windows that limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection.
The very first thing you need to do is to click on enabled and add the “0” value in Bandwidth limit (%).
After that click on “OK” button and close the “Local Group Policy Editor” window.
Now you are done and your system will not be able to reserve the bandwidth again.
